Green Hydrogen Innovation Centre · Data Tools
Estimates the levelised and landed cost of green hydrogen (LCOH) from financing, renewable energy and electrolyser assumptions.
About the tool
The tool models the green hydrogen value chain - from renewable energy procurement, transmission and balancing power through the electrolysis plant to storage and transport - to calculate and optimise the levelised cost of hydrogen.
It supports co-located and off-site renewable plants, and reports the levelised cost of electricity, the levelised cost of hydrogen and the landed cost of hydrogen, together with cost components, production and the project’s financial statements.

Step by step
6 steps from first input to result. Screenshots of every step are in the user guide.
Step 1
Pick the country of the project to open the form.
Step 2
Choose how renewable power is procured, its source, the electrolyser technology, ownership and water source.
Step 3
Change any financing, power, plant or logistics assumption - every field you leave empty uses the tool’s default, shown in the field.
Step 4
If renewable energy is procured under the CAPEX mode, a step for the plant’s own costs appears to work out its cost of electricity.
Step 5
Click “View results” for the levelised and landed cost of hydrogen, its breakdown and the project returns.
Step 6
Download a one-page PDF of the estimate, or go back to any step to try other values.
Before you start
Select the country, then describe the project in 5 short sections - financing, renewable power, the electrolyser and logistics. Choose an option wherever you are asked; for the figures, leave a field empty to use the default shown in it. Select View results to see the levelised cost of hydrogen and the project’s returns, and download them as a one-page PDF.
